Qiqihar Institute of Engineering

Founded in 1958, Qiqihar Institute of EngineeringQIEhas developed into a bachelor’s degree institute, which is owned politically by Qiqihar government. The predecessor of QIE was Qiqihar Vocational College. With relentless efforts, QIE, now a full-time civilian-run undergraduate institute, mainly based on engineering, has moderately developed in management, medicine, literature and art, serving the social economy by cultivating various professional and skillful talents, locally and nationally.

Each year, on the 870, 000 square meters, the beautiful environment and cultural atmosphere satisfy demands of over 6, 000 full-time students majoring in the different 17 specialties in 5 departments, reading in the on-campus library, practicing in the experimental sites and playing on sports fields.

QIE, with 242 full-time and 134 external faculty members, regards the teaching staff as the core resources, and has actively carried out exchanges and cooperation in teaching, scientific research and other fields, has selected cadre teachers to visit the colleges and universities overseas, and hired foreign professors to teach.

Until now, QIE has organized 5 “application-oriented Curriculum Overseas Exchange Study Group” to colleges and universities of the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and other countries to exchange educational theories and practices.

Qiqihar Institute of Engineering is appraised by Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education since the college’s first employment rate has achieved an average number of 91.5% in the last seven consecutive years, a competitive figure among those of the similar colleges in the province. The achievement has aroused more care and attention nationally and internationally. Professor Cao Yong’an, Chairman of QIE, has been invited to Belgium and the US to make keynote speeches on vocational education.
